TamilNadu Teacher Eligibility Test Supplementary Results– 2012

TamilNadu Teacher Eligibility Test Supplementary  Results– 2-11-2012:
  • As per the Government direction, Teachers Recruitment Board conducted Teacher Eligibility Supplementary Examination for Paper-I and Paper-II on 14.10.2012. 2,78,725 candidates wrote exam for Paper I and 3,77,973 candidates wrote exam for Paper-II (Totally 6,56,698). The tentative answer keys were published on the website of the Teachers Recruitment Board and representations, objections etc. were invited from the candidates within one week. All the representations received within the stipulated time have been thoroughly examined by subject experts. After thorough scrutiny, a revised and final answer key has been arrived at and based on that, OMR answer sheets have been valued and provisional results of the written examination is published herein. 10397 candidates for Paper I and 8849 candidates for Paper II have scored 60% and above.
  • During the computerized scanning of OMR answer sheets of the candidates, it was found quite a large number of candidates committed mistakes in marking/shading certain essentially required details for valuation in the OMR sheets. The candidates who have not marked question paper serial code in their OMR answer sheets their answer sheets could not be evaluated and hence rejected. For those who have written the serial code but not shaded or multiple shaded, written serial code alone has been considered. Those Candidates who have not written or shaded the language option in their OMR sheets, evaluation was done as per their option given in the application form. Candidates who have written and not shaded or multiple shaded their language option, written alone has been considered for evaluation. Candidates who have neither written nor shaded or multiple shaded their subject option in Paper II, OMR answer sheets are evaluated as per the option given in their application form. Candidates who have written their subject option in Paper II but multiple shaded or did not shade, written option alone has been considered for evaluation. In the case of candidates who have wrongly shaded/not shaded the Roll Numbers and using old Roll Number, the OMR answer sheets of those candidates were evaluated as per the actual Roll Number allotted to them for TNTET supplementary Examination 2012.
  • Candidates who have scored 60% marks and above are being called for Certificate verification and are requested to produce valid documents at the time of Certificate Verification. The certificate verification begins from 6th November 2012 in all 32 Revenue District Headquarters.
  • Candidates are advised to download the Certificate Verification letters and attend the Certificate Verification as per the schedule given therein. Call letters will not be sent through Post.
  • Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given in the website, download the forms and bring all the original certificates along with two sets of Attested Xerox copies of certificates as per the Check list enclosed.
  • Candidates called for Certificate Verification for Paper I (Secondary Grade Teachers) are advised, in addition to certificates, to bring the updated renewed original employment card along with two sets of xerox copies of the employment card duly attested by the concerned District Employment Officer without fail. The Directorate of Employment and Training have issued suitable instructions to the District Employment Officers in this regard.
  • Utmost care has been taken in preparing the list and in publishing them. Teachers Recruitment Board reserves the right to correct any errors that may have crept in. Incorrect list will not confer any right of enforcement.

Government Technical Examinations in Commerce Subjects - February 2013

     Government Technical Examinations (GTE)  in Commerce Subjects (Typewriting, Shorthand and Accountancy) will be held during the month of February 2013. The eligible Private Candidates and the candidates from the Govt. approved Commerce (Typewriting) Institutions can apply. The Application can be downloaded from 01.11.2012 from the website mentioned in the table.

    The Application (Registration) for the ensuing examination can be submitted either in person or through online. All the details and instructions as to the filling up of application, eligibility (age and educational qualification), examination fee etc. can be downloaded from the Website.

    Those who have submitted through online, come out successful in his/her respective examinations, has tosubmit the Xerox copy (attested) of eligibility certificate in respect of his/her educational qualification within 7 daysfrom the date of publication of the results, failing in this regard, the certificate will not be issued.


The receipt of application after the last date will be summarily rejected. This Directorate is not responsible for any delay of receipt of application sent by mail (Post).

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme.


National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme: 

For The Students of Govt. / Govt. Aided / Local Body / Corporation Schools Studying In Class VIII.

  •  Under this scheme, it is proposed to award 100,000 scholarships to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs.1,50,000/- per annum from all sources. Each State / UT shall have fixed quota of scholarship which will be decided on the basis of enrolment of students in Class VII and VIII in the State/UT concerned and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII. The scheme would provide reservation to different categories of students as per the State / UT norms; as different States / UTs have their own norms of reservation. However, the total number of scholarships to a particular State/UT may be restricted to the allocation made by the Central Government. 
  • These scholarships will be provided quarterly to the students studying as regular students in class IX in government, local body and government-aided schools. The scholarships will be paid from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years. 
  • For fixing the scholarship to States / UTs, 2/3rd weightage would be given to enrolment of students in classes VII and VIII and 1/3rd weightage would be given to population of children of relative age group for class VII and VIII. 
  •  For fixing the 2/3rd weightage on the basis of enrollment of students in classes VII and VIII. For fixing the 1/3rd weightage population figures as per 2001 census may be relied upon. 
  •  Out of total scholarships each State / UT will be allocated a fixed number of scholarships on the basis of the criteria prescribed above. Each State / UT will further allocate their quota of scholarship district wise on similar basis. 
  • The amount of scholarship is proposed to be Rs.6000/- per annum @Rs.500/- per month. 
  •  The State / UTs are already conducting the examination for nominating the students for the national level (second stage) examination conducted by the NCERT. The same examination shall be used for selection of candidates for the award of Means-cum-Merit Scholarships in the State / UT. 

 Procedure for Selection of Awardee Students:

  •  Each State / UT will conduct its own test for selection of students for the award of the Means-cum-Merit Scholarship. The State Level Examination may consist of the following two tests.
  1. Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  •  Mental Ability Test may consist of 90 multiple-choice questions testing verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities like reasoning and critical thinking. The questions in the test may be on analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc.
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test may consist of 90 multiple-choice questions covering subjects namely, science, social studies and mathematics as taught in classes VII and VIII.
  •  Duration of the Test
              Each test will be of 90 minutes duration. Children with disability will be given extra time, as applicable.
  • NCERT will provide a uniform set of guidelines to all State/UTs for carrying out the examination and promote evenness of evaluation.

 Declaration of Results:

 For selecting the students, the following conditions may apply:

  •  The students must pass both the tests i.e. MAT and SAT with at lest 40% marks in each. For the reserved category this cut off will be 32% marks.
  •  The parental income of the students should not more than Rs. 1.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
  •  At the time of selection for the award of scholarship the candidate must have scored at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. There will be 5% relaxation for SC/ST.
  • The awardees should satisfy the eligibilities and the conditions mentioned in the scheme.
